Will Ospreay has discussed his battles with dyslexia, autism and ADHD.

Although The Ariel Assassin is widely regarded as one of the best professional wrestlers of the modern era, Ospreay has admitted that his time in school was not as easy. Detailing multiple learning difficulties, Ospreay wants to inspire others with the conditions and is proud of what he has accomplished despite the multiple setbacks.

During an appearance on Hey! EW, Ospreay discussed what it was like growing up in Essex, British slang and Nandos among a variety of topics. Host RJ City then brought up a previous quote from Ospreay where the AEW star had previously said “All of us autistic kids are so much better than regular, normal people. We can lock into sh*t and do it. To all my autism kids out there, we are top.”

When asked if he was shaming people without autism, Ospreay responded “f*ck yeah I am.” Ospreay then discussed how the learning difficulties were a hindrance when he was growing up and admitted that someone needed to read his AEW contract to him:

“In the school system, I didn’t find out a lot about myself until after I left. So I wasn’t afforded any of the extra time. There were so many things in my education that I really needed help on and I didn’t get that help and it’s not just me, it’s a a wide bunch of people. So finding out all this about myself, I just want to show people that like, you know, like, yeah, I’ve got autism. I have ADHD as well. I’m super dyslexic. I can’t read. I had to have someone read my contract out for me.

Continuing, Ospreay stated that although he does have autism, ADHD and dyslexia he has still been able to become extremely successful in his profession and hopes that others will see it as an inspiration:

So like, it’s super embarrassing, man. It really is. But like, I feel like I’ve got to the point where I am because of all these things that make me who I am and I want to inspire people. So like, a lot of people don’t take risks on people that do have autism around my area. I would like to hope that seeing me doing this stuff, it does inspire other people.”

Will Ospreay Admits He Is Not On The Same Level As WWE Hall Of Famer

Although Ospreay has more Dave Meltzer 5* matches than anyone in history, the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion has admitted that it is subjective and doesn’t think he is the greatest of all time. After first joking about why Meltzer might like him so much, Will Ospreay then stated that he is “nowhere near” the level of another wrestler many believe is one of the all-time greats.

Ospreay will wrestle Bryan Danielson at AEW Dynasty on April 21st.

H/t to Fightful.
